  1. I read an article recently that theorized that he and Gaugain got in a fight over a whore and Gaugain cut his ear off; Van Gogh then presented it to said whore. Gaugain left for Tahiti by way of Paris. Either way, there was surely absinthe involved.

  2. tybur,

i go there every week at least once and the staff have always been super nice. I will say the outdoor people seem a bit more relaxed 😉

  3. Behind the times? Absinthe is legal here now (been so since 2007), so go to it! No more fake stuff or smuggling in from Europe. I actually enjoy it, especially when it turns that pretty color. Nice buzz as well. Complex flavor not to every taste.

  4. quote:
haha – people who drink absinthe are weirdos. does anyone actually like that shit?

i totally would if it was the real absinthe with the wormwood in it that makes you hallucinate. not the fake junk they sell here!

    *rob*

  5. I had it once it Prague… when it was still illegal everywhere else. It’s pretty horrible stuff. But then again, there are a lot of folks that like Ouzo… gaaack!

  6. “They made you feel like you were clearly an annoyance and interfering with their absinthe drinking. ”
