Our Open House Picks from six months ago consisted of a cluster of townhouses for sale in brownstone Brooklyn.

On Dean Street in Boerum Hill, a four-story brownstone has all the high parlor ceilings and details you could ask for, including no fewer than eight original fireplaces. It’s split into two duplexes, an owner’s duplex on the bottom and a rental above, not to mention an extra-nice garden. It sold in March for $3.675 million, $525,000 under its $4.2 million ask.

In Carroll Gardens we’ve got a 20-foot brownstone on 3rd Place, a coveted front-garden block. Not quite as beguiling as the one above, its four stories are divided into four units, ready to be converted to a single-family or a triplex with a garden rental. It’ll will take some work, as will the upgrading this house calls out for, but there’s plenty of potential there. Apparently no one’s been up for the challenge yet, though — the home is still listed for $3.795 million, $400,000 less than its original $4.195 ask.

Our Park Slope pick is not your average brownstone: On the ground floor it’s got a loft-like open space running the full length of the lot, with six skylights in the back. (It’s also got a driveway.) Above the loft space is a four-bedroom duplex. The ground floor could be put to any number of uses — among those suggested in the listing are recording studio, home theater, lap pool (!) and woodworking shop. The property is currently in contract.

Last up is the only non-brownstone of the bunch, which sits across from Prospect Park, at 88 Prospect Park Southwest in Windsor Terrace. With painted blue siding (unless that’s actually aluminum), the house is a three-story single-family with four bedrooms (the listing says three plus an office, but all are bedroom size). It’s an interesting one — vaguely suburban-looking but kind of charming. The property is no longer available, and the broker was not immediately available for response to clarify its status.
