Shakti to Abound at Tony Bennett Concert Hall in Astoria this Saturday

The Hindi word “Shakti” can mean “sacred force.” In the Hindu religion, it can be the cosmic energy that moves the spiritual universe. On the earthly level, Shakti can be manifested through female creativity and fertility. This Saturday, the Natya Tilakam Dance Company brings tremendous energy and creativity… plus 40 dancers, seven singers, five tassa drummers and various actors to the Tony Bennett Concert Hall at the Frank Sinatra School or Arts in Astoria. In scintillating fashion, this Ozone Park-based troupe will honor the mythological stories of Shakti and the Almighty Shiva.

Details: Shakti, Frank Sinatra School of the Arts, 35-12 35th Avenue, Astoria, September 14th, 6 pm, $20. Click here for more information.
