well i almost left work this morning but i see no point in going home and doing nothing. so i got more info from my 1/2 sister this morning and from her neighbor who contacted me. turns out i have a 1/2 gay brother, my sister is a teenage goth chick with dyslexia and other learning disabilies and goes by the name mary jane manson, and that our mom is dead. 🙁 she died in 2006. my coworkers want me to contact the tyra show. im still literally in shock right now and totally confused. im sorry i just had to vent this and get it out of my system.
cmu, I thought about that and maybe you are correct. The owner or the designer made a legal threat because they couldn’t take the criticism.
Well, Francesca, remodelista or whatever was the name of the design firm; when you yourselves put yourself up on the internet to the public, then you open yourselves to any kind of commentary.
I had this go-tound with Ringo yesterday because he started ranting because I called attention to the “one husband and three children comment” line and he said:
“she was trying to be funny. I get it, and I get that you don’t. Maybe you’d have to more familiar with her, her site, her work to get it. She’s pretty well-known. Clearly you’ve never heard of her — that much is clear.

“What you don’t seem to understand is that people who parade themselves and their trappings on a website are open for whatever anyone would like to say about them. It’s the internet and that’s what it’s all about.

So if any of these parties has threatened brownstoner, I think he simply stands behind Freedom of the Press and Freedom of Speech. When does the definition of celebrity status kick in? And who really cares.
The silence is deafening but I bet cmu is on the right track.
I think he owes us loyal posters an explanation, and feel it’s pretty cavalier of him not to do so. What’s the big deal? Maybe his lawyers said he can’t comment.

I think he could have gotten away with the “Parody” exception based on the comments being made.
