Petite Crevette byob restaurant

Sit-down restaurants without liquor licenses are rare in New York, but they can be a fun adventure. Bringing your own booze will almost certainly save you money, plus it allows you to bring your favorite beer or wine. Navigating the Brooklyn BYOB scene can be tricky without a little planning. Luckily, we did the legwork for you. Here are a few fan favorites.

Petite Crevette (Carroll Gardens)
Take your time sampling specialty menu items like the fried oysters, red snapper, and the five star rated cioppino. This casual yet intimate eatery is perfect for a first date—a great place to stay for a meal but also close to other bars (both in Red Hook and Carroll gardens) should you want to keep the fun going.
Cork fee: $5. Cash only.

Black Iris (Navy Yard)
Black Iris is a great spot for a weekday lunch or evening take out. Die hard fans rave about the beet salad and classic falafel. You can make an entire meal out of all the delicious side dishes (or gorge yourself on mountains of fresh pita bread).
Cash only.

Bistro Petit (Williamsburg)
This bistro offers high-end cuisine at an affordable price. Chef and owner Sung Park has a following of Hibachi fan foodies who come for the farm-fresh dishes with French and Northeast Asian influences. Signature dishes include Korean beef bourguignon, truffle mac and cheese, and the mushroom appetizer. It’s a small venue, so if you can’t wait for a table, they also have free delivery.
Cork fee: none.

Lucali byob restaurant

Lucali (Red Hook)
Lucali does rustic simplicity and they do it well. This is not the destination for those that want a variety of meal options. This is the spot for pizza aficionados that love the slightly cheesy-but-beloved ambience of Lady and the Tramp. If you’ve never uttered the phrase “too much cheese,” in your life, then you’ll want to try the fresh calzones overflowing with the perfect mix of ricotta, parmesan, and mouth-watering mozzarella.
Cash only.

Ital Kitchen byob restaurant

Ital Kitchen (Crown Heights)
The restaurant meal that is doctor-approved healthy and also mouth-wateringly delicious can seem like an urban myth. At Ital Kitchen, however, patrons line up around the block to taste crowd pleasers like vegetarian jerk chicken, sweet plantains, and avocado salad. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, like having a meal at your best friend’s house without being roped into clean-up duty.
Cash only.
