Taqueria Coming to Stuy Heights?

We hear Villa Pancho Oaxaca Taqueria may be opening a taqueria at 478 Halsey Street, on the corner of Lewis. It will replace a medical center that has operated there for years, although it was often closed as of late. The building sold in October for $1,200,000, according to public records.

Oaxaca has another six locations, including one at 1116 Bedford Avenue, in western Bed Stuy. This should nicely round out the offerings in Stuy Heights, we think. GMAP

Update: We just heard from one of the agents, who tells us Oaxaca, not Villa Pancho, is moving into the space — but it’s not a done deal yet, as the lease has not been signed.
