An addition is rising on the roof of the Broken Angel building at 4 Downing Street, where demo has removed the last traces of the otherworldly structures artist Arthur Wood had built at the entrance and on the roof. The building plan calls for a vertical enlargement but no additional stories. When it is done, the height will be the same as it was previously, according to the Alt-1 permit.

The new cement block going in now is where the old cornice was originally, back in the days when the building was a tenement. Click through to the jump to see an old photo of the building as it might have looked when the Woods acquired it.
