This brownstone at 663 Putnam was designed by architect Joseph S. Stevens in 1899, according to the listing, and features an elaborate staircase and several mantels as well as original moldings and other details. It’s technically a two-family but is currently set up as three with two floor-through rentals over the owner’s duplex.

The floor plan shows a bathroom jutting into the rear bedroom on the parlor floor, and there are no photos of kitchens or baths, but the listing says “the current owner improved the property with the utmost respect for the original craftsmanship, keeping as many of the period age details, the vanities, hardware and all the clever nooks and crannies as possible.” The electrical system has been upgraded, the roof resurfaced, and the heat was converted from oil to gas. It’s also 3,648 square feet with a rent roll of $73,000. What do you think of it for $1,600,000?

  1. This house is from 1889. I think the facade of this house is awesome. Also I really like the backyard in the photos. I can’t wait to see this in person.
