A reader alerted us to the mural going up on the wall of the Mobile Gas Station in Downtown Brooklyn at 185 Flatbush Avenue Extension. (The mural is on the side of the building that faces Johnson Street.) It’s a Groundswell Mural project called “Voices Her’d.” Here’s the description: “Groundswell’s ‘Voices Her’d’ Visionaries team of exceptional young women will design and fabricate a monumental mural that explores the theme ‘Women as International Community’ in partnership with Spoke the Hub Dancing.” The young women painting the mural examined issues facing girls and women during the school year before choosing a topic for a large-scale summer public art project. Looks beautiful!
