Community input is requested for the $40 million year-round rec center planned for the Brooklyn Bridge Park. The non-profit group NYC Fieldhouse and reps from the park will hold several community forums this summer to discuss programming and the overall design. The meetings are scheduled for the following dates: June 18 at the Long Island College Hospital, 339 Hicks Street in Cobble Hill, from 6:30pm-8:15pm; June 20, a Red Hook forum at the South Brooklyn Community High School, located at 173 Conover Street, from 6:30pm-8:15pm; June 25 in Brooklyn Heights at the Callahan Center at St. Francis College, 180 Remsen Street, from 6:30pm-8:15pm; and a fourth forum scheduled in DUMBO at a later date. RSVP is not required but community members should email NYCFieldhouse@gmail.com with the forum location they wish to attend. This will likely be the place to discuss the proposal to create a dead-end at the bottom of Joralemon Street in anticipation of increased traffic.
