Late last year the conversion of a handsome old brick warehouse on Imlay Street in Red Hook began, and now the new exterior of the building is on display. City permits indicate the conversion of the structure, which involved tearing down much of the existing building, was done in order to turn in into a Yeshiva “trade school.” It doesn’t appear to be in use yet, but the Yeshiva in question is called Yeshiva Kehilath Yakov, which has another location in Williamsburg. We don’t think this one is going to be in the running for next year’s Building Brooklyn awards! Click through for a photo of what the building used to look like.
