237 Cumberland Street was on the Fort Greene House Tour back in the spring of 2008 just as the new townhouse-style condo development was being completed. At the time, the units were priced between $1,650,000 and $1,799,000, a level at which we called them “a tough sell.” Brooklyn Properties had the listings for 2009 and early 2010, at which point it appears they were pulled. Now they are back under the marketing auspices of Douglas Elliman. Unit #3, which had been listed as high as $1,799,000 is now asking $1,695,000, which still seems expensive to us for a 1,695-square-foot apartment in Fort Greene. Obviously someone spent a lot of dough on the construction but we just don’t see how you can get $1,000 a foot in this location.
