A tipster noticed an opening date has been set for LuLu’s to start selling used kids clothing in Park Slope. LuLu’s then&now, which we wrote about when it first started to take over the space at 5th Avenue and Prospect, will be opening the store August 31st.

  1. ha, no, i pretty much only use to buy used clothes. im just afraid to now these days cuz of all the bedbug infestations being reported everywhere! tho yeah 11217 is right it’s mostly new clothes places reporting the infestations.

  2. Rob,

Washing and drying clothing on high heat removes bedbugs and nearly all consignment shops wash their clothing before selling them.

It’s no difference than a store selling new clothing, in fact the places we’ve heard that have had bedbugs have been Hollister, Victorias Secret and Abercrombie…I’ve heard of NO vintage or used clothing stores having them so far.

that is absolutely disgusting considering the huge bedbug problem in nyc. this will just make it worse! plus in a year or two im pretty sure selling used to stuff in a commercial establishment will be illegal.

  4. i’d like to see a used kids clothing store with sizes about 5 as well. WB has Flying Squirrel which is terrific, but really doesn’t serve bigger kids.

  5. For all the complaining and bad economic news, just today we have 3 new things opening in Park Slope…maybe Chipotle, The Bagel Market and this. The bagel place is the only one which appeals to me personally, but I’m very happy to see empty storefronts rented.

Oh and used kids clothes in Park Slope? Yea, this store is gunna make bank.
