Welcome to the new Brownstoner. Over the last few months, we took the site down to the studs and built it back up, preserving the original details that make Brownstoner unique.

We are still Brooklyn inside and out, covering the borough through the lens of real estate. We continue to share inspiring interiors, renovations and listings; give you lots of ways to connect with neighbors and experts; help you find a place to live, and team up with an architect, contractor or interior designer to make that place better; and, of course, learn about Brooklyn’s history while staying up to the minute on what’s happening.

If you live in Brooklyn, or hope to, you know Brownstoner. If you own a home here or are as obsessed with real estate as we are, you are a regular. We seek to give you good reason to come to Brownstoner whether you are a Brooklyn newbie, a seasoned resident or a fourth-generation native. And we hope you will share your questions and information with others using the various tools we’ve provided here on Brownstoner.

Over the last year we’ve added more original reporting, better photography, advice and helpful guides. We’ve increased our coverage of interiors, design, architecture and renovation. It’s all meant to inspire you and help you make where you live better.

On the new Brownstoner, you’ll notice significant changes to our underlying mechanicals as well as sleek new finishes.

The site loads faster and looks different, with bigger photos, new fonts and new navigation.

Want to know more about the neighborhood where you live, want to live or plan to visit? Check out our new Neighborhoods section, where you’ll see all the latest stories about the ‘hood in visual form.

Our new Explore section lets you browse stories by topic. Check out everything we’ve written about interiors, architecture, the real estate market, Brooklyn history, development, Upstate and more.

That’s just the start of the alterations we’ve made. We’ve incorporated all your must-haves and then some. (You could say we’ve opened up the space to bring in more light.) Other renovations include:

  • Brownstoner Real Estate now offers large photos, floor plans, and personalization tools to help you land your dream home and give you an edge over the competition.
  • Brownstoner Services now includes a concierge service to help you access helpful information and put you in touch with the right people for your projects, whether it’s buying a home, gut renovating a townhouse, a simple repair, or something else.
  • Real-time discussions in the Forum and Brownstoner editorial improve conversation flow and enhance community interaction.
  • A comprehensive user dashboard keeps track of everything for you. If you’re a new user, you can start by signing up. For Brownstoner regulars, make sure to check your email to claim your account. Having trouble? Send an email to support@brownstoner.com.

Though there will surely be a punch list, we’ve got our Certificate of Occupancy now, so come on in.
