Fridays at 11, Brownstoner Upstate brings you a selection of properties within three hours north, and a little bit east or west, of New York City.

The Ulster County hamlet of Olivebridge is located to the south of the Ashokan Reservoir. If you visit, you won’t find a walkable little town filled with cafes and specialty boutiques. What you will find, however, is incredible beauty and quietude. You will find residents who love the close communion with nature and don’t need something happening every night of the week to feel fulfilled. You will find places to ride your bike along the Reservoir, and you will find the Ashokan Center, one of the best educational centers around if you’re looking to experience the Catskill State Park in a hands-on, interactive way. You will find farmland, streams, mountains and wildlife. You will also find some stellar properties, including the three farmhouses we’re looking at this week.

Oliveview farmhouse is in a sweet spot at the end of a dead end road, nestled into the foothills of the Catskill Mountains. It’s also close to places like Stone Ridge and High Falls, just in case you need to grab some good food or listen to some live music (we suggest the High Falls Cafe for both of these things). Aside from the great location, the circa-1875 house is just as lovely as can be inside. Rough-hewn in all the right places, and modern in others. Learn more about it on the farmhouse website. Beds: 4. Baths: 2. Square Feet: 1,799. Lot size: 7.9 acres. Taxes: $5,451.

We love the original plank floors and quintessential farmhouse doors in this circa-1900 property. Plus, it includes 2.5 acres of green meadows and a pond. Our favorite part? The sunroom with the vaulted ceiling and tons of windows. We would spend all day in there. Take note: Status is “pending.” Beds: 3. Baths: 2.5. Square Feet: 1,532. Lot Size: 2.57 acres. Taxes: $4,284.

There’s just something about a red farmhouse, isn’t there? This one is bright, spacious, and comes with a gigantic 900-foot family room. It’s also located on eight-plus acres and is fairly close to this bar and restaurant in Krumville, another fine wee hamlet. Beds: 4. Baths: 1.5. Square Feet: 1,673. Lot Size: 8.4 acres. Taxes: $5,791.
