  1. Thanks guys. My dad is doing very well. He’s very healthy, strong (worked 2 full-time jobs with physical activity for 45 years), thin. He broke the other hip when he was 84 and recovered amazingly. But 88 is a lot older than 84, I have come to know. It happened at 5 p.m. on Wednesday (fell on the bottom step of the cellar steps). He crawled up the steps, had dinner in the kitchen, went to the bathroom (told me the pain was worst getting onto the toilet), and crawled to bed. Didn’t call me until 11:30! And he said, come in the morning after you take J. to school, I want to get a good night’s sleep! Of course I went right away, leaving J. alone for the night. He didn’t get into a hosp. bed until 5 p.m. but he is in a great hospital and so relieved that the pain from the break is over. He was afraid of getting too much morphine because he didn’t want to become a drug addict.
