Queens resident Michelle Cheikin will have an exhibit of her photographs of the borough in the Flushing Queens Library starting Friday August 9. The exhibit, Queens Surface is, according to the artist, “a montage of forty photographs that capture the subtle details in the quality of light and architectural forms of the Queens of yesterday and today…With her attention to subdued color, vacant spaces, and reflections, Michelle observes the Queens of yesterday, as it disappears in renovation and development.”
Queens Surface will be at the Queens Library, Flushing at 41-17 Main Street from August 9 to 28. There will be opening reception on Saturday, August 10 from 4 PM to 6 PM with a question and answer session at 4:30 PM. Click through to see more of Cheikin’s photos.
