Closing Bell: Cherry Blossom Timelapse
In case you haven’t made it to the Brooklyn Botanical Garden yet to soak up the cherry blossoms, this video will either be a good stand-in or motivate you to get out of your barcalounger this weekend. 2008 Cherry Blossom Timelapse at BBG [YouTube via Kottke]

And after the cherries come lilacs, azaleas, iris, bluebells, roses…. it’s a nonstop show!
So beautiful!
Thanks for cheering us up!
Loved it.
Awww…man. That was lovely. Sort of hypnotic. And I loved the music.
I also loved that it was so Brooklyn, put together by and music by.
Thanks!
Now, if only I could cure my husband’s allergies!
Green-Wood Cemetery’s cherries are even better than BBG. Older, larger and quite frankly, more of them.
Not to mention the magnolias, dogwoods and all.
Take a stroll over to the main gates at 25th St. and 5th Ave. Either walk toward Valley Water or straight up Battle Hill.
Fabulous.
(though I love BBG too)
Went last Saturday, they are spectacular.
I will go again when the flowers have fallen. I love seeing the field in a blanket of pink.
Saturday’s 10:00am – 12:00 Noon, Free Admission…can’t beat that.
sakura matsuri, the cherry blossom festival, is this weekend at bbg. schedule at http://www.bbg.org
We have beautiful cherry blossoms in Brower Park.
Saw them on Sunday – prime, and beautiful. One of my favorite spots in NY. In the cherry tree allee, you feel like you aren’t in the middle of a big city – very peaceful. I make sure I get there every spring when they are in bloom. These trees – and the whole garden – are a real Brooklyn, and NYC, treasure.
