Coworkrs Debuts a New State-of-the-Art Coworking Space in Gowanus

Over the past few years, Brooklyn has become a mecca for entrepreneurs and freelancers that don’t fit into the traditional corporate mold. According to DNAinfo New York, nearly one in 10 workers in the Gowanus area work from home. It’s no surprise, then, that shared office spaces are filling the need for the largest employment demographic—the independent millennial workforce.

If you need a few hours away from your television and the cat keeps trying to sleep on your keyboard, and you’re sick of waiting in line for the power outlets at Starbucks, you’ll be glad to know that Coworkrs opened a Gowanus location in August. The popular coworking startup is known for its “At Home At Work” vibe and its beautiful industrial design. Their new Brooklyn outpost offers conference rooms, private offices, shared desk spaces, event space, and comfortable coworking lounge areas.

Located at 68 3rd Street, just two blocks from Whole Foods, the Gowanus location has already attracted plenty of local talent. Tenants include Farmigo, a Brooklyn-based food tech startup, and Two-Up Productions, the creator of the acclaimed Limetown podcast series.

Renters have access to printers, scanners, and Apple TV–equipped conference rooms. All you need to show up with is your laptop. Other amenities include two roof decks, lounge areas, a podcast room, a production room, and taps of locally brewed coffee and beer. You’ll also be able to enjoy a variety of perks including social, well-being, educational and cultural programs, networking events, and discounts with local businesses and partners.

The bright, industrial, 47,000-square foot space features wood ceiling beams and murals from local street artists. And you’ll be able to tell your friends you’re sharing the building with a Rap Genius.
