Dozens of the beautiful doors you’ve seen while walking past Brooklyn’s historic brownstones have been replaced or restored by us. All items in stock are original and have been restored to maintain their original likeness, many companies can strip paint from wood, sand it down and re-paint it, but our company takes care to use solvents that won’t raise the wood grain as much as some harsher solvents that other companies may use. This means that there is less sanding of the wood and ultimately less damage to the original structure itself. In 2009 AMIGHINI created a custom door division with a desire to reproduce original timeless designs. All doors are pre-finished and distressed by hand, not machines. The processes and products used by our craftsmen are uniquely ours and unmatched anywhere else. We consider each door to be a work of art, a philosophy dedicated to serving our clients with a degree of excellence worthy of their investment in each and every one of our pieces. While brownstones are full of charm, the most important thing is to keep the character of the house and not to do too much with their high ceilings pocket doors, plaster walls and ornamental moldings, they can also be dark–the windows are only in the front and back of the building, having the right front door is crucial and Amighini Architectural can be the perfect assistance you need in your renovation.
