About
Big Reuse is New York City's only non-profit retail outlet for salvaged and surplus building materials. Our reuse centers have everything from panel doors to high end refrigerators, window shutters to reclaimed lumber, kitchen cabinet sets to salvaged flooring. View our current inventory on our shop page!
Big Reuse's mission is to keep these materials out of the landfill, while offering deep discounts on their resale. We accept drop-off donations seven days a week, offer free pick up services for large donations and provide deconstruction services for skim salvage of interiors. We are working towards reducing the amount of unnecessary construction and demolition (C&D) waste clogging our landfills, which contributes to pollution, GHG emissions, climate change and global warming.
Founded in late 2004, our Queens warehouse opened in February of 2005. Our second reuse center opened in Brooklyn in November 2011. Both reuse centers are open seven days a week. In addition to our two reuse centers, we support local environmental initiatives, such as the NYC Compost Project, Big Millworks, Big Blooms and Big Gives Back.
