About

Family Heirloom Weavers, Inc. is a small family owned and operated company that started in 1983 with a few out dated looms weaving personalized jacquard woven coverlets. A chance meeting at a flea market with preservationists working for the National Park Service inquired about a period correct all wool flat woven carpeting known as ingrain carpet.

Today, we proudly weave up to 40 different ingrain patterns for museums, historic sites and movies. While this flat woven carpet lost its appeal for the average homeowner with the debut of linoleum, our venetian stripe carpeting spans many years of decor styles from Early American to contemporary. Please visit our floor coverings page to check out our list of venerable sites that have our carpet. Our ingrain stair carpeting is a bargain for the modern day homeowner.

We have four patterns available in several different color combinations that last an average of 15 years of moderate to heavy use. Our stair patterns would be good for homes dating back to the mid 1800s up to today. An average set of 13 steps usually costs around $400 which includes padding.
