MIBO

Mibo is a design practice founded by Madeleine Rogers in 2001.

About

We originally specialized in lighting and our boldly patterned lampshade ranges were stocked in stores such as The Conran Shop, Habitat and Liberty. Further collections saw the inclusion of wallpaper and textiles.

In 2007 we started to focus on children’s products and gradually developed our make-them-yourself animal paper toy kits, which launched in 2009. These kits are still popular today and encourage children (and adults in fact!) to use their fine motor skills by cutting, scoring and gluing the simple 2D templates together to create handsome 3D models. In 2010 we released our cut-and-sew animal tea towels, which again proved to be incredibly popular.

The creation of these animal characters lead to the start of a collaboration with supercool French eco-brand Coq en Pâte. Our co-branded range of organic cotton clothes and accessories for children are now stocked in 50 countries. Coq en Pâte work closely with the International Union for the Conservation of Nature, raising awareness of endangered or vulnerable animal species. Coq en Pâte give a percentage of their sales to fund various projects run by the IUCN to help conserve species that are under threat.

Madeleine has also released 6 books through Button Books, which look at different animal habitats and the magnificent creatures that live in them. The books have now been printed in several languages including Swedish, French and Italian.
