More Signs of Life on Smith Street

A reader spotted scaffolding going up Tuesday in front of the trio of buildings at 252-250 Smith Street between Douglass and Degraw in Carroll Gardens. As we noted last month, work resumed and permits were renewed recently, following structural warnings from the Fire Department. The current owner purchased the two buildings at left in 2008 after picking up No. 250 in 2007, according to PropertyShark. Our tipster says she hears “they’re preserving the outsides, but the insides are a total gut job.” GMAP
