Who's Marching Across the Brooklyn Bridge?
Anyone know what this march is about that’s currently happening on the Brooklyn Bridge? We can make out some Arabic writing on some of the flags, but that’s the only clue we’ve got. Update: Our eyesight must be failing…As per a commenter, it’s a march for a Free Tibet.

Tibetans joining Arabic pride?! I don’t see that. One being peaceful and the other shouting murderous slogans.
It’s possible the arabic looking writing could be Uyghur writing. They look similar.
I think its the Tea Party movement marching on City Hall after finding out that their state tax refunds are being partially “held” by Albany for lack of funds!
March 10 is Tibetan Uprising Day — it commemorates the Tibetan people’s uprising against the Chinese government presence in Tibet.
Here’s the schedule:
8:00am: Meet at Cadman Plaza in Brooklyn; 195 Cadman Plaza West (there is a subway stop, High Street on the A or C train)
10:00am: March across Brooklyn Bridge, past Centre St. and Lafayette St.
12:00pm – 2:00pm: Rally & Speeches at United Nations, Dag Hammarskjold Plaza; 47th St. and 1st Ave
3:00pm – 4:00pm: Rally & Speeches at Chinese Consulate; 512 W. 12th Ave, 42nd St. and Westside Highway
5:00pm – 8:00pm: Music & Speeches at Union Square Park Organized by: RTYC of NY & NJ, RTWA of NY & NJ, TA of NY & NJ, US-Tibet Committee, & SFT
