parking-space-111808.jpgEvidently a parking space in Cobble Hill is worth just a little bit more than on the North Side of Williamsburg. According to Streeteasy, a spot at nForth at 161 North 4th Street just closed for $20,000, just $2,500 less than the one that traded at 185 Pacific Street. Know of any other parking spaces that have sold in recent weeks?

  1. i paid 46k for a spot (among 25 or so) in my south slope condo building about 4 years ago and consider it a bargain. it would rent for about 300 today (or maybe more, the garage across the street charges at least 350 when tax is included i think).

  2. I pay 150/mo. at Classon & St. Marks in Crown Heights. The garage is in my building, so it’s nice. That’s already stretching my budget, though. (Not planning on keeping my car after my lease on the space is up.)

  3. I think around $300 is pretty typical for the residential areas surrounding downtown brooklyn. (Don’t forget the 18% tax on top of that.) There aren’t that many garages relative to manhattan and there’s significant demand from the downtown workers. I found a 20-year old reference to a condo garage in Park Slope where the common charges were $150/mo. Surely they are higher today.
