Remember the mutant facade at 33 Vandebilt Avenue that we discussed back in 2009? Well, we can now make a pretty good guess as to why the extra layer of ugly brick that the owner was adding only made it halfway up: money problems. The house, which sold for $650,000 back in 2004, has a lien of $536,492 against it and is scheduled for auction today at 360 Adams Street. It’s managed to dodge two earlier dates though so who knows if it’ll actually come up for sale.

that block will be a lot nicer too – as they complete construction on those bldgs across the street. additional foot traffic and additional retail shops.
