Under the Bridge Downtown: Secret Stash?
A couple of weeks ago, as we were walking past the entrance to the Brooklyn Bridge footpath near the intersection of Cadman Plaza East and Prospect Street, we notice that the metal roll gate across the street was raised. This is the first and only time we’ve seen it open. Anyone know what goes on…
A couple of weeks ago, as we were walking past the entrance to the Brooklyn Bridge footpath near the intersection of Cadman Plaza East and Prospect Street, we notice that the metal roll gate across the street was raised. This is the first and only time we’ve seen it open. Anyone know what goes on in there? It looked mostly like storage to us. The two dudes working there didn’t seem to happy about being noticed though (hence the rushed, low-qual photo).
Yes thats across from the footpath stair entrance and yes, its D.O.T storage.
2:50 and 3:40, as 3:54 points out, are not referencing the right space. this is an office of the department of transportation.
the picture is not the anchorage(where the performances took place) its across from where you walk up the stairs to get on the bridge
A few good raves took place in that space back in the mid-90s.
that space is down off Front Street–maybe they are connected somehow but this is pretty far away from the old performance space…
Huge space. Used to have big parties there.
