Did anyone else notice that these two 5-story brownstones–within half a block of each other at Washington and Dekalb in Clinton Hill–sold for $1.67 million and $2.25 million, respectively, last month? We don’t remember either of them being on the market. Does anyone know what they are like inside? For those prices, they’d have to be in pretty good shape, wouldn’t they?

I remember the property located on the corner of Dekalb and Washington being for sale by Corcoran. It was actually on the market about 2 years ago for 2.1M. I am not sure if it went into contract but I witnessed the same property come back on the market for 2.5M. The property appears to be huge, as it is a 4 story b-stone with a carriage house on the same lot. If my memory serves me correctly the 2 buildings share the ground floor as a medical office space. The other 5 story property is currently under contract with Jerry Minsky. I never saw inside of either space but they were huge properties.
Both need total rehabs. Maybe the floors are worth keeping in the larger one on the corner and some of the other details remain in both.
That one on the right is actually two buildings, the brownstone and the “carriage house” (actually a nondescript box attached to DeKalb-it is a huge amt of space).
This doesn’t mean that they sold last week. Look at ACRIS for the actual date and selling price.
I remember 301 Dekalb being on the market as long ago as last summer (2004). Took a while to sell. It is a huge place. The only pics I remember were of the living room, which looked nice, had details including woodwork, if memory serves…
