This Week in Foreclosures

With all the talk of weakness in the subprime market, it’s not surprising to see some interesting properties on the foreclosure block this week; of course, it’s also not surprising that they’re all in lower-income nabes. The most enticing listing this week is 309 Kosciuszko Street aka 335 Throop Ave, a 30,000-square-foot prewar brick factory building a couple of blocks from Tompkins Park in Bed Stuy. The lien on the building is about $1 million but you gotta figure it’s worth several times that. There’s no extra FAR but the zoning’s R6 so converting it should be relatively straightforward. Also of interest this week: 217 Vernon Avenue.
