A large six-story development on 44th street and 4th Avenue that’s going to be an 80-unit affordable housing complex for seniors appears to be nearly complete. The Sunset Park project was spearheaded by Lutheran HealthCare and helped along by contributions from HUD and the borough president’s office. What’s striking about this building is how quickly it went up, rising much quicker than most private developments on our radar. The complex was originally scheduled to open sometime next month, and it seems like it might have a shot of making that target. GMAP

  1. I’m a neighbor and I like the cross. The sponsor is LUTHERAN Med Center, for God’s sake!
BTW, the garage on this site was demolished two years ago come January. That’s quick, you say?

  2. ah, when will the stupid brownstone belt bo-bos realized that the churches, moques and temples play a huge role in the delivery of social services in Brooklyn and that the majority of brooklyn residents regularly attend religious services.

Kings County is known as the Borough of Churches for pete’s sake.
