Bed stuy house needed a lot of work. Buyer got a house with good bones and details for right price given the work needed.
No comment on the $65k price difference between asking sale price on the Bed-Stuy house?
The issue is whether it is “private” residential history or a public record. Certainly some of the scandalous flipping and milking of public renovation monies that occurred in the last decade in Harlem (and also in Brooklyn)may have been hampered by a more transparency. I do appreciate the idea that maybe information should be a little hard to get. Criminal records, property transactions, etc, may reveal just a bit too much our our “slips.”
I, too, noticed the deed history on PropertyShark is gone. I would venture a guess and say that privacy issues intervened and prevailed. I know this info is in the public domain, but if you really must have access to someone’s private residential deed history, you would just have to go to the DOB to see it, rather than have it so blatantly and publicly available online. In a way, I’m glad it’s gone because I’m not too fond of having my house deed history put up there for anyone to see at any time. I also removed the photo of my house which was posted on the site. It was certainly a shock when I saw it there, and to be honest, I very much resented it. Sorry to disappoint any of you, but that’s the way I feel about it.

I miss it. Can see how long owned, how many times sold, mortgage amounts, etc.
