More than $2 million for a fifth-floor walk-up was always going to be a tough sell, regardless of how nice the apartment. So it should not have been a great surprise a year ago when the original asking price on the top floor unit at 220 Columbia Heights was reduced from $2,125,000 to $1,875,000. From there, the price fell as far as $1,650,000 before going into contract in August for, we now know, $1,575,000. For those in good health (as we only assume the Upper East Side buyers are), the Brooklyn Heights pad offered a unique combination of attributes, from the oval foyer to the coffered ceilings to the outdoor space with views over the harbor.
