  1. I used to live at 790 President in that very apartment 11 years ago. My second child was born in that front room!
We had it set up so that the front part was a home office/play room and our bed was in the “dressing room” which was just about big enough to house a queen-size bed.
You are right, there was quite a lot of noise from the double doors opening and closing in and out of the building and other six apartments foot traffic going up and down the stairs which are right next to the front bedroom.
The kitchen, bathroom, living room were set up that way then, as were all the other apartments in the building. I think they were originally serviced apartments back in the day.

  2. I agree that the Court Street pics look great but I’m not sure about the layout – you have to walk through the MBR to get to the second (windowless)BR. The second bath is off the kitchen and not convenient to the bedrooms. And those two beautiful windows will light the main floor, but I don’t know how much natural light the deck area will give to the master BR. And no natural light at all in the loft area.

This has been on the market since mid-July (granted, slow time of year real-estate-wise) and was dropped from 975K – will be interesting to see how fast it moves now.

  3. wow, that court st one looks gorgeous. i bet that one goes quickly, it’s in a perfect neighborhood and has amazing details…

the south 8th st one, though.. are they pricing it so high just because of the square footage and high ceilings? i mean, that’s not in the best area of williamsburg. and it’s cut off from all the bedford ave chicness by the bqe. and it has pretty much zero charm. i’m not a big williamsburg fan anyhow, though… maybe they’ll find someone who wasn’t really planning on moving to brooklyn but heard that the WB is the new tribeca…

  4. Would that be the original layout in the President St unit? Or did they reverse things, and make the original LR the master bedroom, and the back bedrooms the kitchen and LR? Interesting concept. Not sure if facing the street and having a door to the hallway (right outside the front door to the building) is the best idea for the master BR though. Seems it would be too noisy.
