  1. Also, the 16th street house has not been on the market for a year, probably less than six months. It is overpriced given the work that it needs and it’s location, but the poster who keeps dissing it as “terrible” obviously has some axe to ground. The corner it’s on is hardly noisy or busy by Park Slope standards. By the way I have absolutely nothing to do with this house or the owner (who I don’t even know) – I just think this house keeps getting a really unfair rap, considering how important it is architecturally, especially for this part of the country. The exterior is extremely well presevered and has beautiful detail. By the way, I have a doctorate in art and architectural history, so I have some idea what I’m talking about.

  2. The exterior of the 16th Street house is not unattractive! It’s a classic California Cottage – extremely rare in this neck of the woods. I don’t get you people. This house does need work, but it’s no closer to the tracks than plenty of other Ditmas houses that have sold in recent years ( I could list them). I know people who have been inside this house. Like I said it needs work, but it is not some nasty, horrible squalid house. It originally listed for $975 by the way. And it’s a hell of a lot better than that shack in “Midwood” which is actually in West Midwood, which is part of Victorian Flatbush and has absolutely nothing to do with the actual Midwood neighborhood.

  3. The house Warren Lewis has is on East 16th Street but it is not one of the house on the Open House Pick list so why are we talking abot it or I think this is what you are talking about?
