HUD Emergency Loan Program Apps Due on Friday

State Sen. Velmanette Montgomery sent out an email blast about HUD’s Emergency Homeowner’s Loan Program, which allows struggling homeowners to apply for up to $50,000 in loans that can be applied against overdue mortgage payments and other costs. Montgomery writes: “Our area was very badly impacted by the mortgage meltdown and downturn in the economy. The foreclosure cycle is once again threatening many of our families and neighbors.” The deadline to apply to the program is this Friday, July 22nd.
