This Carroll Gardens Italianate seems to have a little more original detail left than most in the area, including plaster cornices, medallions, ornate marble mantels, floors, stair and pocket doors. Best of all, there’s a side bay window that brings a lot of light into the interior. It’s currently set up as a two-family over three floors, but given the size it might work better as one. There is a backyard and a garage. Originally priced at $2,750,000, it’s had a reduction. How do you like it for $2,299,000?

  1. this place needs a lot of work, as in new mechanicals most likely, plumbing, kitchen/baths, serious replastering, repair of floors, and who knows what else. glad to see the price reduced, but it is still an absurd price for a very small house in bad condition across from a school and a busy intersection.

  2. busy intersection: tons of schoolchildren crossing, crossing guards, school buses, and generally lots of traffic on hoyt street. and i am not a “poor person” either, whatever you mean by that. perhaps you are a sucker who would pay 2 million + for this house, in which case by comparison i might be considered a “poor person.”
