It looks like the seller of 267 Argyle Road in Ditmas Park is going to make a pile of dough–even if he doesn’t fetch close to the $1,599,000 asking price for the recently remodeled single-family home. As far as we can tell, someone paid way too much for the house in 2007, back when it was a bit of a wreck, then had trouble keeping up with the mortgage payments. The current owner appears to have picked the place up–either through a foreclosure or short sale, we’d guess–for a very low $599,750 back in May. He lost no time in fixing the house up. Now it looks very nice (other than the excessive amount of recessed lighting). Given that, and the great location, we bet he’ll get close to ask. Or close enough, given what he paid for the place, to make a tidy profit.

  1. We live in the nabe, and got a tour the other day…looks like they did a thorough, tasteful renovation especially in the kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms. The reno takes care of many of the annoying issues buyers in Ditmas Park face.
