This highly ornamented limestone across from Prospect Park appears to be in estate condition but with plenty of bells and whistles. We spy built-ins, wood work, columns, mantels and wedding cake plaster details. The two-family probably needs bathroom and kitchen work, skim coating, and maybe upgraded mechanicals, going by the photos (or lack of photos). The exterior looks to be in good shape. The listing says only “needs some work, but it’s definitely worth it.” Think they’ll get their price of $1,300,000?

  1. Sure, it has all the fancy wancy historic details, but then its right on top of the subway. Don’t you think it must get a lot of rats coming up? Especially once they start construction on that 23-story building just across the tracks…

  2. Even with the recent Brooklyn market frenzy, this house has managed to remain unsold for 191 days so far. So whatever the issues might be, obviously the market thinks it is overpriced.

  3. totally agree omar.
yesterday’s HoTD was ridic. Comparatively, Bed Stuy is getting over hyped. There are far better properties for better value than many in Bed Stuy.
This house is gorgeous. You look out the front windows and see the trees in the park. You look out the front windows of yesterdays HOTD and you see the brick wall of the armory.
plus, the owner of yesterday’s HOTD will basically be living in a 3 bedroom walk-up….blah.
