House of the Day: 1211 Jefferson Avenue

It’s painful for us to see flips like this, where the house is completely gutted and nothing is left except for maybe a staircase or fireplace, looking completely out of place in what is otherwise a modern box with strip floors and baseboard heating. In our experience, these places linger and sometimes have to be rented out. We think flippers could make a product that would appeal more to buyers for the same cost and turn faster. At $649,000 for a two-family in central Bushwick, is this what the market wants?
