House of the Day: 50 Clarkson Avenue
50 Clarkson looks nice enough, but it lacks both the original detail and prime location of some of Prospect Lefferts best homes. At 2,000 square feet, the house isn’t huge either. There is room to park 14 (!) cars at the rear, though. That canopy over the front porch is a tough design touch. Waddya…

50 Clarkson Avenue [Brown Harris Stevens] GMAP P*Shark
Calling this a detached house may be literally true (it’s not physically attached to the apt. building), but it’s laughably disingenuous.
DIBS, methinks PLG is one of Fiberama’s biggest markets 🙁
Unfortunately, this row of three houses is all owned by the same person, and all are for sale – although they are available separately, they are also clearly being marketed to an investor to tear them down and replace them with condos. To quote from the listing for one of the other two houses: “…this 1905 Dutch Colonial is one of three contiguous free-standing houses… ideal for an investor to create multiple living when combined with the additional lot. New housing is much needed in popular Prospect Lefferts Gardens and Clarkson Avenue (which is outside of the historic district) will allow for such development.”
Truly a shame, and I wonder how the people who are in contract on 15 and 25 Clarkson feel about living across from a construction site/big apartment/condo building? Well, that’s what happens when you buy in non-landmarked areas.
you could knock down the house and make parking for another 6 cars at least.
That porch roof could easily be repaced with a very nice one.
Just say “NO” to Fiberama!!!!
Pretty place, but being surrounded by large apartment buildings makes it a tough sell.
Whomever buys this – please leave the parking in the back, or I don’t know where I’ll park.
Is this house next to a giant apartment building?
14 cars? I would turn that into a backyard.
“There is room to park 14 (!) cars at the rear”
Woohoo!!!! A car owner’s dream.
