House of the Day: 69 Orient Avenue (With Pool)
We can’t imagine there are a whole lot of people willing to shell out $1,450,000 for a non-descript two-story house out past the Graham stop on the L Train in Williamsburg, but you can’t blame the sellers for trying. We can’t imagine there are a whole lot of people willing to shell out $1,450,000 for a non-descript two-story house out past the Graham stop on the L Train in Williamsburg, but you can’t blame the sellers for trying. As the Craigslist ad states, there are approved plans in place to add another 1,500 square feet of living space to this house, but that means you have to find someone who wants to spend $2 million-plus for a house in this location. Seems like a stretch to us. But then again, there aren’t that many houses with in-ground pools around here either!

That seller has put that house on the market 4 or 5 times in the last 3 years. He never intends to sell, he just wants to see what he can get.
You might also have to watch out for the crumbling “development” in back at 100 Maspeth
“Olive Park” now has a giant i-beam skeleton propping it up, because the cheap developer tried to get away with dangerous construction methods…
Maybe now that the inspectors are doing their jobs, these guys will be less interested in cheating people lest and right
forget the pool — how about that kitchen!
The seller is selling only the house and he is going to develop crappy 3 Fam Fedders on the 19 width lot
I dont understand why you’re so shocked — Orient’s a beautiful block, this is worth a lot more than that listing for about the same price on Keap street next to the BQE a few months ago… the amenities on the 3rd stop on the L are actually somewhat nicer than the 1st or 2nd stop, if you know where to go.
I mean it’s all overpriced — when I lived around the corner, houses on this block were going for $160K — but this IS one of the nicer houses, and, if I am correct, has some interesting stories associated with it.
Really a shame about the Cooper mansion.
And Cooper Park is probably the nicest park in Williamsburg — I think.
Double cabinets in the kitchen, and they still have to leave clutter and crap sitting out on the countertops in their photos.
why not? This is as Entourage as it gets for Wburg.
And what about 59 Orient a few doors done? Asking price is 2 million, but despite being 150 years old, it will most likely be torn down.
And with room for my 5 cars!
