Back in late ’09 it looked like the Karl Fischer-designed building on Green and McGuinness was nearing completion but, according to StreetEasy, marketing didn’t begin until last summer. Last week aptsandlofts, which is selling the building, told us that five of the condos are in contract, there’s an offer in on another, and four are still fully on the market. Prices are going from $399,000 for a 696-square-foot one-bedroom to $629,000 for a 975-square-foot two-bedroom.

  1. I like Greenpoint… it’s the VH1 to Williamsburg’s MTV. But, there does seem to be a huge difference in the quality of each block, depending on where you are standing. I’ve never seriously considered moving there, but whenever my next move happens, I think I’ll look around, seeing as how I do find myself in that area quite a bit (and I like the vibe).

  2. “but some blocks are not that great.”

same could be said for any neighborhood in brooklyn.

greenpoint is great – i’m guessing not many people who read brownstoner actually go there too frequently, since the only criticisms i hear about it on this site are the “oil spill” – which is located in the northeastern part of the neighborhood, in a part of the nabe i don’t think is even zoned residential. (norman is the cutoff east of mcguinness – right WBer?)

    but yeah – mcguinness sucks.
