Desperate times call for desperate (and, ahem, illegal) measures. Over in Greenpoint, reports New York Shitty, a 24-unit condo at 184 Eagle Street that was a little late to the real estate party is getting creative with its C of O by trying to rent out rooms on by the night on Craigslist. (We checked in with this particular development two years ago.) The price? $79 a night. Another building in the area has also tried to go this route. Similar things happening in other nabes? GMAP
how do we ‘know’ that the condo is getting creative with the CofO…..and not an individual unit owner renting out rooms? I realize we’re looking for signs of desperation for stories but hasn’t this practice (renting like hotel rooms) been a bane for fellow condo/and rental dwellers in a number of buildings (upscale neighborhoods and bldgs) in the best of times?
29 bucks a night for a bunk bed. 870 bucks a month?
if it gets down to 600 bucks a month to rent a bunk I could see people just living there.
