The Word on the FG House Tour [Brownstoner]
I think the idea behind the exhibition, that modernism can be contextual and by definition is about ideas and not style, was really well executed, interesting and important. I think the FGA should be applauded for opening their minds to and faciliating the display of this work,in juxataposition of the house tour, which does not glorify cornices and crown moldings but at the same time is not irreverant or irrelevant to the canon of historicism that is so beloved in Fort Greene as so well articulated in the exhibit. I think the curator should also be applauded for facilitating this dialogue, executing a fine piece of work in the fixture display, and for choosing such fine examples of modernism on the civc and private scale.
Enrique’s building would be amazing…will never happen
That Arts Center model is stunning; a nice visual respite from the Gehry gunk. Are they serious about building it?
