The developers of the Shangri-La at 710 Sixth Avenue in Park Slope have, evidently, lost patience with the lack of buyer interest in the building. (Not surprising: Only one out of 16 units has gone into contract, according to Streeteasy.) According to these cries of desperation that appeared in the New York Times this weekend, they’re accepting sealed bids until 5 p.m. today. How low can you go?
‘Shangri-La’ No Paradise for Buyers. Or Brokers. [Brownstoner] GMAP
New Development: Greenwood’s Shangri-La (Not) [Brownstoner]
Listings: 710 Sixth Avenue [Prudential Douglas Elliman]
I heart this neighborhood (and the cemetary), but the name Shangri-La makes it sound like a retirement home. Since when did addresses become no longer an acceptable way to identify a building?
I double your chz sandwich and add a pickle, with a mezzanine.
I went to an open house a few weeks ago. The construction was very shoddy. The apts seem like they were slopped together. There is a building on 22nd (6th and 7th) that went up that we looked at as a comparison. It was much nicer and better constructed!
how much for 1 rib?
I bid a nickel and a cheese sandwich.
It’s 5:29pm, wonder how many sealed bids they got? Anyone make an offer? 😉
as long as these far out 1 bdrms are going for $500k+ i know the bottom is a long way away…
agree that this building is not too great, but i have used elliman 2x now with great success.
Anyone with the audacity and lack of imagination to call a piece of crap like this Shangri-La deserves a swift kick in the ass, preferably in the form of a huge money loss. Only then will developers learn that they have to build quality to sell.
