In Crown Heights, this one-bedroom in an 1890s row house has original details, recently updated wet rooms and all-white finishes to give a clean and bright look. The apartment, on the garden floor of a two-family at 926 St. Marks Avenue, also comes with in-unit laundry and a dishwasher.
The entrance under the stoop opens into a long hallway with room for a seat and storage, including a closet and rods to hang bikes. The unit’s living room faces the street and has wainscoting, wood floors, moldings and a columned mantel with white-painted tile surround.
A wide doorway flanked by tall windows with frosted glass panes between the living room and the adjacent kitchen allows some light to filter into the windowless room while potentially hiding a bit of kitchen mess. There are stainless steel appliances, including the aforementioned dishwasher, and an island with room for seating.
The bedroom at the rear of the floor-through is large, with two windows in the rear bay and two closets. There is a door to the rear yard, but the garden is not mentioned in the listing, so perhaps it’s off limits.
There are two more closets in the hall leading to the bathroom; one of those holds the washer/dryer. A previous listing shows the bathroom was renovated at least by 2016, with white fixtures, subway tile walls and marble herringbone floor.
In the Crown Heights North III Historic District, the apartment is listed by Christophe Tedjasukmana and James M. Armstrong of Corcoran and available starting July 15 at $2,500 a month. What do you think?
