Condo of the Day: Confused in Red Hook

Despite the ambiguous listing, we’re curious about these condo lofts in Red Hook slated to come on line by the summer. All the ad says is that this is a 3-bedroom, 2-bath, 1,400-square-foot condo in a waterfront enclave in Red Hook. The ad also uses the term “new construction” but includes a photo of a gutted loft building. Did they tear this down and really build new construction or is the just a interior gut job? If they kept the original facade, we bet the nine units, priced $700,000 to $825,000, will sell quickly. If they started from scratch with a new facade, we’re not so sure. There must be some locals out there who can tell us where this is and what’s happened with the facade.
Note: We replaced the original photos-which were useless-with the one above from Property Shark of the development going up at 22 Dikeman Street. Not the most picturesque part of Red Hook, huh?
New Construction Condo Lofts [Bond NY]
yeah, red hook is the wild west. you might get a piping hot latte spilled on you by a clumsy multi-tasking, stroller pushing parent AT ANY MINUTE. not a damn thing has changed since you were a teenager Gowanowitz. and the subway still costs a buck and a quarter.
Nice view of the Red Hook houses in the background. Do you get bulletproof glass for your back windows?
What’s next with the Hook, NYCHA putting ads in the real estate section of New York magazine? Exclusive waterfront enclave? This area was always more like the wild west, at least when I was a teenager.
i’m not buying anything from someone named jasper
I know for a fact this isnt a Manzione RE exclusive, I have viewed the spaces with Jasper Socia from Bond New York. From What I understand it is a shared listing. I must say the spaces are going to be beautiful. High ceilings and beautiful arched Anderson windows. They are a bit close to the projects but keep in mind how the neighborhood is changing. Fairway, the proposed sugar factory mixed use development, Ikea, new restaraunts, I could go on. I think its a great opportunity!
Wasn’t my question Zonette . . .
M1 is light manufacturing. Residential is not allowed. In other words, combustiblegirl, you can’t live there legally.
Across the street and up the block are some of the few remaining rows of uniform townhouses in the hood. Very cute limestone-ish brick three story houses. Brooklyn Propertes has had one on their site for a while for just under a million.
Can you get a residential mortgage for a commercial space?
not lofts or even “loft-like”, just condos…the pictures that this Jasper guy uses don’t even make sense…they are not of any of Gino’s work…and the second picture looks like something taken in Europe. The guy doesn’t even have the exclusive on the property. The sign outside the construction site explicitely says offered exclusively by Frank P. Manzione RE on Columbia St. Doesnt look like an open listing to me. I live around the corner and it’s pretty quiet at night but not as scary as it used to be. prices seem a bit high though per sf. – with no water views. Time will tell…open house? brochure? Let’s go.
