As we said when we last featured an apartment at 174 Pacific Street, “Old schools often look like great places to live from the outside, with their large windows and high ceilings, but their conversion can also result in some awkward division of space.” The conversion of this particular old school is particularly awkward in our view; it also feels very dated. That said, this two-bedroom does have some things going for it: Great location, 14-foot ceilings and an affordable maintenance. The asking price is $990,000.

Ten bucks shy of a million clams for THAT?
“Come buy my condo,” said the spider to the fly.
truly awful layout.
You have to go up a spiral stair to get to the bathroom.
Who designed this? Dr. Seuss?
Fuggedit.
Zoned for 261, not 29. So, OK school.
And yes, it’s only a one-bedroom. I don’t know who they think they’re fooling by calling that teeny li’l room a “bedroom.”
I don’t know what possibility the loft space holds, but that is not a real second bedroom and at that price, only one bathroom would be a deal-breaker for me. That said, maybe the schools and locations would outweigh all that.
It’s a coop.
Good schools and a great location.
Funny how that works.
