Condo of the Day: 70 Washington Street, #10B
The first thing that jumps out at you about this 1,236-square-foot condo at 70 Washington Street in Dumbo isn’t the massive columns or the views of Manhattan, it’s the wallpaper. Somebody in this apartment definitely digs wallpaper. It’s quite tasteful stuff but it seems to be in every room, which is unusual for a loft….

Somebody in this apartment definitely digs wallpaper. It’s quite tasteful stuff but it seems to be in every room, which is unusual for a loft. At $1,159,000, the tenth floor pad is actually one of the cheaper ones in the building; it’s also probably one of the nicest. Granted it’s only got one official bedroom, but that home office is calling out for a crib. In the end, it all comes down to what you think those views are worth, since there are larger, cheaper apartments available on lower floors in the building.

Looks like it faces east so no threat to the view, it’s the west side that has the problem. I like the wallpaper but it is easy to replace…
I like this building a lot, but there are a TON of apartment for sale in the building and i assume it’s because they are losing their view. Am i wrong, but i thought that was confirmed?
I am with Nomie: you can have more “guests” in the bathroom than you could to comfortably sit and dine!
You are paying a couple hundred thousand for the view.
Starting to feel repetitive, but it’s not my fault: That is simply not enough room for a kitchen, dining room (“area”) and living room! Not for this price per foot. Goodness, no, especially if you figure the actual footage which, generously is about 1100, so that’s over $1000/foot. That just doesn’t make sense to me with such tight living space. Disproportionately sized bathrooms again, too…. it’s like chunks of “luxury” smashed together making something that just doesn’t add up to either luxury or good sense.
BUT, hey, these layouts MUST appeal to people….
(I love wallpaper. Here, especially the print in the bedroom. But, yeah, doesn’t feel right in a loft.)
If you bring your tape measure, good luck getting to 1000 sq feet.
Wait, sorry it faces east, never mind.
Won’t they be losing some of their view when the Dock St building goes in?
Love this building, the wallpaper is tacky, please, could it be any louder…but that can come down. The office room, is really just a giant walk in closet.
but i like it.
